Chlorine and the salt in sea water can corrode the computer chip in the USB. If it gets wet, allow it to dry and then check to see if the chip still works. Drying time could be up to 30 minutes or more. USB Medi-Chips that are exposed to chlorine or salt water are not covered under the warranty.
How does the waterproof Medi-Chip USB Flash Drive differ from the other chips?
The waterproof chip is not affected by fresh water. If it gets wet, just shake it off. The chip should be able to be read almost immediately. If it does not read immediately, shake it off again or dry it with a soft cotton cloth and try it again.
